Thank you for registering here! Please note that MOST of our classes are run through recreation centers and are required to use their registration system. Please read the instructions below how to search for the class you just found :) on our site, and thank you, in advance, for your patience! When you click on the online link below, you will have left our site and need to set up a password for Arlington County Recreation. If your class is listed at another center, please simply go back to our registration page.
Please note these tips for navigating the Arlington County Recreation Center website:
- From our site here, click on the RED online hyperlink to get you to the Arlington County Recreation website.
- Then enter your ID in the LOGIN ID box. To simply browse, click on the GUEST button, but please note that all prices are automatically $10 higher because it assumes you are an out of county resident.
- From there, you can navigate the system in a variety of ways. I suggest going to the hot buttons at the top of the page. The first button says HOME, simply put your cursor over the one NEXT to it that says ACTIVITIES.
- After putting your cursor over the ACTIVITIES button, a pull-down menu pops up. Select BY TYPE and then select SEARCH by TYPE. (OR you could simply QUICK ENROLL or SEARCH BY NUMBER if you know the activity number printed in the course booklet or listed on our site in the description you can get to by double-clicking the class name on our Classes page at www.ParentChildU.com).
- Then you get a screen that says CHOOSE THE ACTIVITY TYPE. Most of our classes are under MOVEMENT (not Music) and some of our classes are under WELLNESS WORKSHOPS and some of our classes are under SOCIAL SKILLS.
- From your selection, browse the entire list to find your choice. Please note, many may not be in order, due to the class number that were set up differently long ago,(for example Signing Smart: Beginner & Signing Smart: Intermediate).
- Double-click on your class selection and then you will see your class with each of its sections pop up.
- Click on the ? sign for more information about the class.There you will see a course description, information about prices, age requirements, the cost of materials, and a globe you can click for a MapQuest directions to class! All home materials are required materials for all of our programs.
- Please register ideally at least one week ahead of class. If you register after that, the class may have been closed due to low enrollment. We DO always take late registrations, but the county does not prorate your fees. You are welcome to make up your missed classes at ANY of our other classes, but please make sure our make-up times work for you ahead of time on our homepage calendar :). Then simply use our easy to use make-up scheduler on our homepage that is activated once we know which classes are a go for each term. Most classes do go, so register early and please invite a friend.
